So I have no idea if you check this anymore, but I'm going to report in anyway. I need some accountability desperately if I am ever going to get these extra inches around my middle to budge! Anyhoo, I got on the treadmill for thirty minutes today; did a mix of walking and jogging. I even got a shower in before Lydi awoke from her nap--woo hoo! Am going to try to do a few sit ups before bed...
How's your training going for your big race? Good luck!
xoxo,
Jen :)
PS Abby wants Jett to come over and play...I wish he could!!!

Progress!!
Well, I blew my diet yesterday (had a cheeseburger, ice cream bar, peanut butter cookies, and candy) but most of the time I'm making good choices :) And they're paying off!! I've lost 7 pounds already, and I hadn't budged one number on the scale since February! Woo Hoo! I'm telling you, seeing some progress is the only thing that keeps me from binging on a daily basis. I'm liking the trainer, and I like having 24 hour access to the gym. I've only gone late at night once so far, but the fact that I can go at any time makes it easy for me to feel like I can squeeze in the exercise. Anyhoo... I'm thrilled about some change. Finally!

Hello Again :)
Wow, the last time we published on this blog was last July! Well, here I am. I haven't met with the trainer yet, and I haven't done any exercise. But I'm trying to eat better. I've been struggling the most with healthy snacks and quick lunches. I think I'm going to have to stock up on spring mix lettuce and blue cheese, or I might cave and make some mac 'n' cheese! I just ate a 1/2 cup of ricotta cheese with a 1/4 tsp. of almond flavoring and 1 equal packet (I imagine using sugar would be fine, but the recipe came out of the South Beach Diet cook book...it's a little anti-sugar.) It doesn't taste bad, but I can't seem to finish the half cup. I guess that's not a bad thing. We've also made two dinners from the same book. We had a roast pork loin with rosemary and garlic that was really yummy, and tonight we had a Mexican Lasagna. It would be gluten free if you can eat corn tortillas (or find something to replace them with. Or I guess you could leave them out...) Anyway, it literally looked like vomit, but it was really yummy. I'll send the recipe on to you if you want it :) Best of luck with the fitness goals. See you around here more often!

Reporting in for Monday
Just reporting in before I shower and head to bed. My goal was thirty minutes on the treadmill, alternating between running and walking. I ended up doing about a mile and a half of running (5 min at a time at a 10 minute mile pace) total. But hey, I burned well over 300 calories and worked up quite a sweat! I got on the treadmill last week, too. Nothing like putting on a few pounds (think Haagen-Dazs) to motivate you!

2.5 Miles!
Okay, this is probably not something I should be joyfully posting since for just about anyone else out there 2.5 miles is not a big deal, but for me it is. So YIPPEE! I did it! I was trying to play around a bit with the incline and the speed today so that I'll be better prepared for the real thing. I have a feeling I will go weak in the knees at the first hint of a hill during the 5K...I still can't say I love running, and I can definitely say that any kind of incline is NOT a happy thing for me! But I did a half a mile at a 2% incline (try to hold back your applause; I know it's overwhelming) and a different .6 of a mile at 5.5 mph. The rest of the time I kept it between 5.0 and 5.2 and perfectly flat. Did I mention I like flat? So yeah, I still have a ways to go, but at least I'm making progress. I'm pretty sure DH and I will not be anywhere near each other during the 5k, since there is no way I will be doing 7 minute miles, so I guess I'll just have to try and look cuter at the finish line...

Wednesday
Way to go lady!! You're awesome! As for me, I got off to a good start on Monday with my two miles (even did most of it at 5.3 instead of 5.0--not much, but still something), but I didn't get on today at all. My GI tract is NOT happy. Not sure what's going on--my stomach is fine and I feel totally fine, but I am constantly in the bathroom and the very idea of getting on the treadmill even to walk was just intolerable. So I guess my gardening today was all the exercise I got--along with chasing Abby. Tomorrow is too busy for anything, but I'm planning on Friday. At this point I'm starting to worry about whether I'll be able to run (okay jog) the entire 5K...I may be walking some!
See you in the morning! :)

exercise
Okay. I did the treadmill twice on Monday, and once on Tuesday. I'm only doing the weight loss walking program on the treadmill. I've done levels 1, 2 and 3 so far. Today I haven't made it to the machine yet, but I did clean all three bathrooms and vacuum the upstairs. And for me these days, that counts for something! Also, I've been eating breakfast every day (out of necessity!) and I know that is a healthy habit I should have already been doing. I also lifted weights and did squats on Monday night. Not a lot, but better than nothing :) I am really focusing on baby steps because everything else is out of the question right now. In fact, I better go eat some lunch or I'm going to barf. See ya!
